Last week, we filled bags with snacks, water, socks, toiletries, and information on where to get hot meals daily. These bags are called Love Bags, and we were able to make 101 and of them!! We keep them by our door, so on our way out of work, we can keep them in our cars. When you see someone in need at a stoplight, you have something you can give them!
The students of Dunwoody HoPe were on their way to the Civil War museum in Atlanta for a field trip yesterday. They are raising funds for field trips, club expenses and community outreach to donate to the HoPe Foundation. We are over the moon about how excited you all are and cannot wait to see your results!
We've been working with Coach Forsh and his teams for four and a half years now, and we are so excited to work with his track team again! We are so lucky to work with such amazing coaches! Thank you for everything you do - we are looking forward to helping your team with track dues!
Thanks for being our awesome team memember of the month, Chris! Straight out of the gate, you've become such a vital member of our team. We had so much fun supporting the Florida AIDS Walk yesterday on Fort Lauderdale Beach! An estimated 1.1 million people in the US are living with HIV, and 15% of them don’t even know it. Florida is disproportionately affected, and while progress has been made, the rate of new HIV diagnosis is back on the rise.
Dean Trantalis, who was elected as Fort Lauderdale's Mayor on Tuesday, made an appearance at the event. Trantalis explained how important organizations like AHF and the nine beneficiary organizations are in the fight against the stigma of HIV and AIDS. Students from Stoneman Douglas addressed the crowd as well, and Flo Rida wrapped up the day with an exciting performance! This was the most successful Florida AIDS Walk to date with over 3,000 participants and over $2 million raised to provide HIV and AIDS services and outreach in South Florida.
Shelton Elementary School kicked off their fundraiser yesterday to raise funds for safety upgrades to the outdoor track. This is going to make a huge difference for this school and their children! We are so lucky to work with such a supportive PTA, and we are excited for you!
Let's toss things back to last Tuesday! After work, we prepared trays of food and helped the amazing people from LoveBags of Fort Lauderdale serve the homeless dinner. We are so lucky to have such an amazing team that can share these experiences together.
TEAM PLATINUM! We had two wild weeks of carnival themed games for our Fundraising Specialists. The more groups they signed up, the more games they played! The more games they played, the more tickets they earned! They did an outstanding job and won the grand prize of ice-cream for themselves and a buddy at Jaxson's Ice Cream Parlor & Restaurant! Thank you all for helping so many kids everyday and inviting the entire team with you!
